I agree totally for general table topics.  For contests though, I think there needs to be a more level playing field so that answers can be compared rather than purely quick thinking.

If the idea behind table topics is to prepare you to answer questions off the top of your head while thinking quickly, then one should develop the skill of answering a wide variety of questions in any form. There&#039;s a benefit in being asked a &quot;bad question&quot;, that&#039;s just as much as a skill that should be developed as any other.</description>
