Question for Quiznos
Oct 07

My local Quiznos does something remarkable. Unfortunately, they do it in such a way as to negate any positive effect it may have.
Entering my local Quiznos, I am greeted by a cheerful voice, “good afternoon sir.” This is great. I feel welcomed immediately. I don’t get this at any other fast food establishment I go to. In fact, I don’t get this at most restaurants I go to and they have dedicated greeters! It sets the tone.
Unfortunately, when I look around at where this greeting is coming from, the person who made it is not looking at me. I feel awkward. Typically I would like to return the greeting, but there’s no one to return it to.
Other people come through the door behind me and get the same treatment. What could have been a personal welcome to Quiznos turns very quickly into what seems like an automatic response with no compassion behind it.
How do you treat your customers? Ask yourself why you treat them that way. Are you doing it because you should, or because you care about your customer? If you care about your customer, show it.
